JSS Trippler Funny Math Doesn't Add Up and Is Borderline Scam

I'm not going to make too many friends with this article though i been thinking about the ramifacations of Jss trippler. And then it hit me ..

If Jss trippled your investment then that means somebody in your downline had to pay for that. Maybe you are an excellent marketer and you are doing quite well with the program. In a tripple up system there will always be 2/3rd of people who will not make any real money with Trippler. So how does it make you feel knowing that the majority of your downline will not make much money and maybe even lose some money?

It maybe legitimate and legal and you are doing well with Jss Trippler! Who am i to tell you what to market on the internet? I'm not the FDC! I'm just an honest god fearing man with a conscious that wonders about how my actions affect the world..

I don't have everything i want though i have a big vision. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. You know these are tough times for many people! Last night i was walking downtown Miami near the metro rail! I saw the homeless population that has almost trippled in the past couple years.

One man who stuck out from the rest. I felt like i had to talk to him. Turns out this homeless man is really smart and he was reading a bunch of books. This guy was one of the casualties of the collapsed housing market. I gave him something for breakfast and come to find out he was a vet. I told myself when i am ready i will come back and help these people rise out of poverty for those that are willing to work for it.

I think the best programs are ones that people can offer real services or products in exchange for a fair amount. Ultimately the best businesses are ones where you work as a team and everyone is helping each other to succeed. Knowing that if i help you grow i will grow as well.

If i sold something to somebody i want to be able to talk to them 6 months from now and them tell me thanks for helping them. Guess what i made a customer for life if i can accomplish this goal.

If you are doing well with JSS right now I believe you can do well with many different things! Don't put all your eggs in one basket even if your getting golden eggs right now! Those Golden eggs might be rotten later...

If your Not doing good with Jss be careful not to sell your self short. There are lots of great opportunities out there! Just step out of the box and think Big. You can find your own unique niche. If you can make a business on helping other people prosper then you will grow beyond your wildest dreams...

Do you ever notice that for some people it seems so simple for them to have anyone they associate with to more often than not support their ideas? They seem to have no problem in turning their ideas into real action. Most of these people tend to persuade others in order to get the results they want. Or do they manipulate others into a situation in order to get what they want?

Have you ever thought about this for any length of time?

Persuasion is really an art in itself, where people position themselves to generate real value for others. You really have to have a range of skills to do this, things like having personal credibility, the ability to win over other peoples thought processes and beliefs, along with being able to overcome resistance. Most people without realizing it draw on these skills on a daily basis, they just don't always realize it.

Someone once said that the best way to shape the future or to shape your future is to influence it. But in order to shape that future it must be done ethically and there must be mutual gain for those involved. It becomes manipulation when you do this for personal gain only, if you are doing things for personal gain, then you're definitely not adding value to yourself or anyone else. Typically you are likely even being unethical or using unethical tactics to manipulate others for personal gain. This will destroy your reputation and credibility in very short order.

You know the old saying: do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Taking this into consideration I believe one key factor to persuasion is to "listen to others as you would have them listen to you" This not only will improve your relationships but it will build trust with others. When people feel that they have been heard, they then feel that their opinion is being valued, then they will become more open to considering your point of view and your ideas.

So if at times you feel that you may actually be manipulating others into your point of view, maybe consider sharpening your "persuasion skills" so that you can add value to others and in turn be able to take your ideas and turn them into valuable business outcomes for the benefit of everyone involved. Sometimes a little education to gain some additional knowledge can take you a long way........

“There’s NO Such Thing as Residual Income”

Did the heading get your attention?

Good, because this is what people tell us as children and we pass it on to our children (except for me NOW). It’s a never ending cycle that only a few have learned to break. It bugs the hell out of me that all of us have been taught this ridiculous propaganda.

My mom came to Michigan to visit. It is nice to see her again but even at 42 years old she is still pushing on me that “There is no such thing as residual income”. She came over last night to take us out for ice cream. When we return to my house to visit some more we got on the subject of making money. The conversation started out talking about my eldest son wanting to move out of the house but I don’t think he is ready. I want to teach him how to create residual income for himself at a young age but he doesn’t want to listen. Typical teen!

Mom makes a comment that there is no such thing as residual income. My son is best just to be educated and get a good job. My son is going to school to be a male nurse and that I am proud of him for. He wants to do something he loves and I don’t want to discourage him from that. But I also believe he should learn how to control the money he does make.

Dave Ramsey is right, our education system is all messed up. they teach our children everything except how to control money. I told my mom I was going to make residual income for my family. I looked over to my wife and she supported me by saying, “you do it baby”. We are fed that education is the best and that is the only way to success. I want to vomit every time I hear of this or think of it.

We live in a world where the rich get richer because the poor work for the rich. We have to get control of our lives, our finances and start thinking for ourselves. Learn how to invest in residual income systems. Make money work for us instead of us working to make money.

We are all looking for better ways to market our products/services so, I came a cross this site from a friend and it wowed me. I thought, if it wowed me how many other business owners would it wow so, I am passing on the link to you now. I hope it wows you as much as it wowed me.

It is called "IBOTOOLBOX". It has a lot of cool features like an automated blogging system. When we blog a post like this it is automatically pushed to 6 different blog sites including the one you specify. You can set it up to go to your blogger, facebook, networked blog accounts and add IBOSOCIAL, IBOBLOGOS and HOMEBIZBLOGS to the list.

It has a contact manager that allows you to add your business and personal information. You can connect with others by uploading video and photo sharing. You can generate your own leads without ever having to buy leads again.

Being in network marketing is hard when there is so many to choose from to start making money. If you're just starting out you are probably overwhelmed by how many there really are. You are probably getting bombarded with people trying to sell you on their opportunity that sounds really good. It's like tying you to a rope and playing tug-a-war as to who is going to sign you up. Actually you are probably feeling like you are being tugged in a hundred different directions and it is wearing you out. Believe me I know the feeling. I have been where you are at and it is time for you to cut the ropes.

Start by evaluating each opportunity

Stability - Make sure the company has been in business for at least 5 years.
Do they have a legit product/service that has a high demand?
What is the commission based on recruiting or sales? If based on recruiting it's a scam.
Look at how fast you will generate income. If you are spending more on the ADP than you are in commissions you will loose money. There are opportunities that require a one time fee with no ADP obligations. One that comes to mind is Multipure.
Attend the seminars and learn what you can from each company.

This list may sound like a lot of work but it will save you time and money. When you do find the right opportunity, stay F.O.C.U.S., Follow One Coarse Until Successful. This will save you from being pulled in a hundred different directions.

Also, stay consistent. Most of the successful Network Marketers I have met say that the Key to their success was being consistent. It will build your credibility to market online and people will be more apt to follow you no matter what you do.

Another is to work as a T.E.A.M., Together Everyone Achieves More. Working as a team will give you ideas to build your business. Have you heard the phrase,"Two Heads are better than one"? People on your team may have some ideas to share with you. If you find something that works then share it with your team. Their success is your success.

You can't do every single network marketing program that tugs on you so you have to narrow it down to the one that is suitable for you. These are just a few ways you can free yourself from network marketing tug-a-war.

I have been in network marketing since 2002 and found many tools to use to market myself which includes Twitter, Facebook & Youtube. These tools are great to use but wasn't getting the results I was looking for to build my credibility ranking. I have seen a lot of ads on the internet for tools to use to increase my followers. Sometimes I wish I would have tried those tools because it has taken me nearly 9 years to build my followers of over 3,000 between my Twitter and Facebook accounts. Now, I just learned how to make a Fan Page on Facebook and Youtube videos to increase my followers.

On April 29th, 2011 I came across a site that changed how fast we get followers on all 3 social media sites but wanted to test it first so, I started a new Twitter account to my FanPage on Facebook. I pulled all my videos that wasn't getting views. I didn't get a 1000 followers or a 1000 fans but the growth was phenomenal.

Now like you I was very skeptical because I had seen other sites that required a fee to do the same. I am not one to spend money if I am not sure it will work. If it's free I have no problem trying a site so, I joined and within a few minutes of joining my twitter followers increased dramatically. I am talking lighting speed increase. My twitter followers went from 18 followers to over 71 followers in just a few minutes. With in a few days we were well over 300 without paying a dime.

Our Fan base on FaceBook has increased. Although, it isn't where we would like it to be we were slowly climbing. Ran into a situation where we forgot to add our Fan Page but as soon as we did the fan pages went from 71 to 90 in just a few minutes of setting the Fan Page up. Now, you'll have to try it to see it happen before your eyes. I can talk and talk about how great this tool is for your twitter and Fan Pages but you'll have to try it to believe it.

Success In A Nut Shell!

What does it take to be successful? In my opinion being successful means believing in who you are and being around friends who are willing to help you succeed. If you can't believe you deserve success how can you have success and why would you want to be around people who are negative about your success?

Everyday we are selling ourselves so being successful shouldn't be that hard. When we are out searching for our significant other we put on the charming self confidence look to impress the other. Can you imagine meeting someone that is in scrubbing looking cloths as if they just came off the street. When I go on a date or a business meeting I look my best and if the other person I am meeting doesn't look the professional I won't even speak to them. I know it sounds bad but I have high expectations for others. If I am looking my best then they have to look their best no exceptions.

When searching for a job or a business opportunity we have to show that we are successful. We put on our best success look so we can sell the experience we have acquired. Again, If we walked in as if we walked off the street do you think we would get hired? I think not! I remember a guy, who was looking for job, answered an ad I had on the internet. I told him to meet a friend of mine at a local coffee shop and everything will be explained. My friend said the guy looked like he came from the hood and the car he pulled up in was beat up and sounded like it need to be put out of it's misery. It was embarrassing, so need less to say my friend never spoke to him.

Do you want to be successful or not?

Then learn to sell yourself first. The place to get started is finding a network marketing business opportunity. If not for making money then join just for the experience. Networking with others will teach you how to work as a team and sell yourself to others by helping others be successful. I have been in network marketing since 2007 and it has taught me that by building relationships and helping others I can be successful. I have become a big believer in network marketing and no one can tell me any different.

You are probably thinking Oh my, this guy is trying to sell me a pyramid scheme, but honestly, I am not. First of all it is against my rules to advertise a business opportunity. Second, pyramids are against the law. Third, The opportunity I represent has been around since 1993 and are partnered with very well known services so I highly doubt they are a pyramid scheme. Forth, this is not about my business opportunity it is about you finding success by getting involved in helping others succeed.

If you are thinking that I am selling you a a pyramid scheme then stop reading this article right now. You will never believe me anyways. But ask yourself this, is your 40 hour week job where you work your butt off for less than what you are worth going to help you succeed? Can you give yourself a raise anytime you want too? Can you go on vacation when you want too without asking? You may or may not believe it but network marketing is no more a pyramid scheme then your day job.

Network Marketing is a home base business that helps people succeed and meet friends who want others to succeed. It is a way to be financially free from bills and to live our dreams. We may have to put in some hard work just like a job but with less time and great rewards. It allows us to choose our own path in success instead of being corrupted by believing that a job is going to make us successful. We can decide whether to work one day and not another and still get paid. We can not go to work and still be able to pay out bills. Can you say the same thing about your 40 hr a week job?

Here is something else to think about! A lot of people think network marketing just wants your money, right? Well did you know your job also requires you to spend money. You have to put gas in your car, to get to work. Every few months you have to put oil in the car, you probably put a lot of miles go to and from work. Every now and then you may buy a new automobile just to repeat the same as you did with the one before. Ask yourself can you write any of this off during tax season? NO! Well that is too bad because I can, remember, I own my own business. I may spend a little to get started but I get to write it off at the end of the year. I get a tax break because I own a home based business. You can do the same just find a network marketing business opportunity that works for you and you can too.

Network marketing can make you very successful but it isn't the key to your success. You can be successful without it if you just believe in yourself and learn to build strong relationships with others by helping them be successful.

How to Find True Residual Income Opportunity.

Residual Income is a goal in which we are looking to accomplish. But is there a true residual income opportunity out there for everyone?

In my opinion of true residual income would be that of an opportunity that is fun, easy and it produces residual income without any effort. For me the opportunity would have to be something that every individual is using or has the strong desire of having and the market has to be huge.

For Example: Let's say I was shopping for an opportunity and I had a choice between a heath Juice product and a Telecom service such as cell phones. Which one should I choose for residual income?

Some would say the Health Juice industry because there are people who are looking for remedies for their health. But does it produce true residual income? Some health juice opportunities require a small signup fee with a large monthly purchase of juice. To me I see large over stocked inventory if the product doesn't get sold or used. If the oppportunity requires ADP or Automatic Delievery Program that means every month the Rep has to purchase the juice. To me this just becomes another bill I would have to budget for. Now unless you are making lots of money who can add another monthly bill to hteir budget of, let's say $125 a month. Sounds crazy to me. Where is the residual income?

Now let's look at the residual income of the Telecommunication industry. Some would say that it is not a need but a want. In reality people would see a cell phone as a need especially for the younger generation. Some Telecom. opportunities recquire I higher signup fee and that can be a little intimidating to some but the reward is higher and more stable. The cell phone service is a service that is already in someones budget. As long as a customer pays their bill every month I would get paid. To me this would be considered true residual income.

The difference between the 2 opportunities I mentioned above is this; The Telecommunication industry is a trillion dollar industry and is growing rapidly. There is always some new technology coming out better than the last. Unlike the health juice product, there are no inventory for cell phone services. The cell phone service also has a huge target market because just about everyone has one, young and old. In my opinion, cell phone services would be a better choice of creating true residual income. Michigan Gas & Energy Deregulation

Do you remember back when there was only one phone service? If you are of the younger generation you may not but if you are older than dirt like myself then you remember that the only phone service provider was AT&T. Then there was deregulation in the phone service which allowed competition. Meaning deregulation open the door for people to choose other service providers like MCI, SBC and many others smaller service providers to compete with AT&T.

Now the door has opened for other smaller gas and energy companies to compete with Consumers Energy in Michigan. This is huge! The consumer can now choose an alternate gas and energy suppliers.

This doesn't change where the gas will come from. The energy will still be regulated by the state and the local utility company will still deliver their energy service through their wires and pipes. The customers will just have the benefit of competitive pricing.

At first I didn't get it and then it hit me, they found away to make money by advertising to people with cell phones. By this time we all have had a chance to review the information l have provided for all members and non members to review and more or less have learn from it all. By this time you all have created the needed accounts to provide you with the tools for you to become successful. If you have not done this then please do so, if you don't have them in place it will become more and more difficult to follow my lead.

Today we are going to talk about how and why websites get ranked in major search engines. I used Google, so l use all the tools and research material they provide me with, best part of it all it is free except for your time and effort it takes you to master it.

One of the biggest mistakes owners do is think that your site name has a lot to do on how you will be indexed or how your site show's up in SERP, unless your site has been penalized. You need to understand your site URL is only an address for your document aka (Site Page). See this is where it gets really interesting, once you understand this next step you will have opened a window of opportunity for your site.

What is meant by a Spider Crawling? This is when spiders crawling your entire site looking for relevant keywords for indexing along with keywords/phrases in your site. If at the proper density for that alga pertaining to the keywords/phrases in that document content (site page) then it receives a SERP placement. So all you need to know is that the actual document you have written is what gets you a great SERP, the URL has nothing to do with indexing, or anything to do with SERP.

The life span of a Google query normally lasts less than half a second, yet involves a number of different steps that must be completed before results can be delivered to a person seeking information. Once it goes through this process you will know if it gets SERP, review the examples and you will understand how this complicated formula actually works. Understanding this concept will enhance and make you improve your articles. Why you should rewrite and improve the articles you have written.

Is Success What you're Looking For in Life:

We all want to become successful in life, some of us make it a habit to achieve this goal and try out every new program that tells them success is within you're reach. We have all read lines that makes us all want to read more about it. But in the end we all fall short of obtaining this goal of becoming successful. You can buy every program that will guarantee you success and still never achieve it. So the question is why can't l become successful in life. I read all the books, listen too all them CD's, Tapes or MP3's, why haven't attracted success.

The above opening paragraph reminds us all, that we have tried and done most of what l have listed and yet the results are not there at all. So the mystery continues with our journey into the land of success. Why do some people found success well others who are smarter, better looking and have more ability never found it. What did these people do that l didn't do, we ask our selves repeatedly over and over again. Why them and not me? Then we do the what we do best, we give up and go looking for another program that will help us achieve what we are lacking. Guess what, it happens all over again, same patterns of though, same excuses, why me how come l can't found success.

This is the most frustrating thing that we can encounter in every day life. This is the biggest obstacle of holding us back, of becoming who we know we should be, or having the ability of becoming. We all have the same advantage as one another. The biggest difference is some us learn how to use certain powers that we all have. The ability to be able to visualize who you want to be in you're mind and understand what it takes to becoming who you see in you're inner mind. The mind has the ability to be controlled and manipulated to thinking in the exact manner you program it to think like. It is up to you to spend some time and working on re programing you're positive influence to create the vision of the individual that you see through you're inner eyes. Once you see who you are and start believing that this is really who you are not who you're going to be, but who you are already. I want you to re read the last sentence, close you're eyes and re read it with you're inner eye's. This will provided you're mind with a little work out.

Let's talk more of working and getting you're mind to think and create the image of who you are already not who you're going to be but the person you see as being successful. Now take that person and replace him with you, do this with you're eyes closed over and over again. Talk, think, and start acting like that person is you. It takes at least 21 days to get you're mind programmed, so you will have to work on it on a daily bases. It is no different then you giving you're body a work out with weights, running or what ever form of exercise you do. You now have to exercise you brain and train it the way you training the rest of you're body.

You can buy all the books, tapes, Cd's, and mp3's and never found the results until you understand one very important step. This step will change you're ability to become who you want to become and found all of the success you have looked for in you're present life and never been able to found it. This step is so over looked and simple and no one uses it because it is too simple and something so simple can't possibly work. This is how we think, we have been programmed that the more we spend on ourselves the better the program is. Well guess what, most unfortunately not true at all, except you have just made someone money and wasted a lot of you're time and effort again.

Now if you're really serious about founding the secret of how to become the successful person that you are already are and make the change that will enhance to becoming that person. The you will found the most simple step in life all you really need to do is stop read this blog take a walk to the washroom. Why the washroom, because it has a mirror, now look into that mirror and you will see the problem and the solution to becoming who you want to be. The answer will look you right into you're eye's. This is what is stopping you from being the successful person you already are and nothing else is. The answer is their in front of you, now it is up to you to understand and do what you know you have the ability to do. Yes only you can found the answer, why it is so simple but so many of us rather spend money instead of investing our time in applying what we already know.

The answer is in front of you, now take the time to understand what l have just shared with you and apply this very simple costly step and improve, achieve what you have desired all of you're life make you're dreams become real. So simple but, most of us will click to the next blog and keep on search for the next self improvement program and yes more then likely buy it and found the same results again. When you think about it, how much did I t cost you, other then time and a walk to the bathroom to see who you're truly are capable of becoming.

This could be the most powerful lesson you will ever learn about you're own personal changes in life. Then again if l had charged you a great deal of money would you tried it, since it's free, how can it possibly work................why l have so much time free time l tried it and now sharing it all who would like to try it.......This is where l leave you to decide what you really want.....Remember when you meet them eyes they never ever lie!!!!!

I wrote a post not too long ago called "Are Your Twitter Posts Getting Read?" where I talked about how twitter works. But the article didn't give enough information where someone new would understand it so, I made a video that explains the use of keywords on twitter to generate unique traffic to your sites.

One person who commented on my article saying that she doesn't use Twitter anymore because by the time she added a post there was about 100 more posts right behind hers so how is anyone going to see her post. This is so true but what she doesn't know is that there is a science behind twitter using keywords.

You have heard people say to use keywords when posting on twitter, haven't you? There is a reason people say this. It's because when you use a keyword in your post it targets people having the same interest. For example: If I wrote a post discussing "Network Marketing" then I would use Network Marketing and any other keywords pertaining to network marketing in my post. The post may get shuffled to the bottom quick on the home page but it will take longer on the keyword page.

That is right I said Keyword Page. This page consists of every Twitter user using the same keywords.

I Hate CLICKBANK... I Just Don't Get It!!!

One of the highest paying affiliate programs on the internet is Clickbank. The people struggling with ClickBack hate the program because they don't understand how the program works. There is a way to choose the right vendor that will make them the most commission. We need to give them guidance and training that will help them start making money.

Now I want to set this straight right now before I go on with this article...

THIS IS NOT A GET RICH QUICK SCHEME! IT TAKES TIME AND A LOT OF TRAINING TO START MAKING MONEY WITH CLICKBANK.

Listen to me, it took me almost 2 years to learn how ClickBank works before I saw any money and I had no training and no one to walk me down the right path. Consider yourself lucky for finding this article because I am going to take
you hand and show you how to choose the right vendor to cash in on. I already started making a list for you on my site at LonnieNiver.com to help you get started.

Here is the fun stuff...

NOT REALLY, But it will be once you know how it works.

I am going to show you what I look for when searching for a vendor to cash in on. All you will have to do is follow my lead and you will make money. Will you make money tomorrow? Probably not but you will have the tools to choose the right vendors for your niche market.

Let's get started!

Gravity

The first thing I do is look at the gravity of the vendor. The gravity tells me how many other affiliate marketers are making money with that particular vendor. The higher the number the more popular the vendor. Most affiliate marketers, especially newbies, will use a vendor with a high gravity. I don't because I feel the market is saturated and will be really hard to make any money. I will look for vendors with a gravity between 100 and 50 because the market has yet to been saturated. By choosing a vendor within this gravity range will give me an upper hand over other affiliate marketers.

Commission

After I have found the vendor within my gravity range I will check the commission rate. I want to make money, right? I will look at the Avg %/Sale for my commission rate. The rate I am looking for is somewhere between $49 and $29. I want to make sure I make enough commission for my efforts. I could choose a smaller commission but I would have to work harder to sale a lot of product. Time is an essence so, I don't
have time to mess with the smaller commissions and I really don't want to work any harder than I have too.

Referral Sales

The next factor in my decision making for a vendor is the Referral Sales or %refd. This tells me the percentage of sales that other affiliate marketers are referring. I select vendors that have a range between 50% to 100% because I want to make sure I am going to make a sale. I could choose a lower percentage rate but the chances of me making money are very slim.

The 3 factors above are how I determine a vendor and so far it has worked for me. Other affiliate marketers have their own way of choosing a vendor but this technique has worked for me so I am not ready to get rid of something that isn't broken. Remember, even though I say this works for me it may not work for you but it doesn't hurt to try when it's free, right. I wish you all great success!

The Secret To Driving Traffic To Your Business Opportunity

One of the most difficult tasks I have found in building a business whether it's a network marketing opportunity or an affiliate marketing business is generating bumper to bumper traffic of prospects without using a landing page. Did you know there is a simple and more effective way to prospecting? I am going to share with you a tool I use to having prospects knocking at the door to join any business opportunity and it's not a landing page.

A few months ago, I came a cross a passage in an ebook I had been studying that talked about the disadvantages of using a landing page to prospect. If you don't know what a landing page is it is a web page that most business opportunities offer to distributors or affiliate marketers to generate leads. The information on the landing page gives information about the business, product/service and the cost. The problem with a landing page is that there are so many of them being used that it's almost impossible to get the page ranked on the first page of search engines. Why? Because search engines like Google indexes and caches web pages and if the web page looks like a duplicate they won't bother indexing it. But there is a simple tool that can be used to get around this that will allow more traffic and get higher up in the rankings.

Now, I am not going to sit here and say landing pages are not useful to converting prospects into buyers or referrals because they are useful for doing so. But there is a system that must be followed in order for a landing page to work.

Have you every heard of blogging?

You can keep laughing but before you stop reading hear me out. Blogging is the tool I use to generate unlimited amount of prospects. Are they legitimate prospects that actually buy? My answer is YES! My prospects are knocking down my door to sign-up for my opportunity and it feels great to actually crack the secret to prospecting.

Explain to me why it works?

Okay, here is why blogging works better than a landing page. Blogging allows us to do one thing that landing pages do not and that is adding fresh new content to the page so that when the search engines crawl the site it won't be seen as a duplicate. Plus we can submit our blog to blog directories and every time we make a new post we can ping it to all the directories to let bloggers know we have made a new post.

Remember, I said landing pages can be useful but there is a system that must be followed. The system is to add the information about the product/service and the company on the blog in your own words. Then add links to the landing page and the sign-up page with in the text. What I do is add this information as a text area so that it appears after every post and only have one post per page. Once the page is all setup all we have to do is add fresh new content every day.

Another, plus to blogging that can't be done on landing pages is that our Google Adsense and Affiliate link can be added to the blog given us the opportunity to generate more revenue as we post to the blog.

Who says I am not brilliant? Just kidding!

I have and the one thing I keep asking myself is how can someone just give away $125 so, I decided to dig deeper into this online opportunity to see if it is a scam or not. With this post I am going to share with you my findings and you will have to decide on whether or not it is a scam.

The man behind this online offer is Tissa Godavitarne. I don't know him other than what he has written on his landing page. His landing page explains how he came across this search engine idea and had lots of success so he decided to share it with like minded people. To tell you the truth I think his idea is a brilliantly designed money making opportunity but it sounds too goo to be true.

I decided to join this opportunity to see where it would take me. Anyone can sign-up for this free search engine but if you want Tissa's help he suggest completing 3 Steps. Step 1 is very simple and cost nothing to step up. It's called the Affiliate step which you will go through a step by step process setting up your affiliate programs he says will put money in your pocket even when you're not making money with the search engine. Pretty slick! I thought so too!

The 2nd step is a little tricky because it has a cost to it. It is call the Monetized step. Although there is a very small fee it will help personalize my search engine. Tissa uses two different sites to host the personalized search engine, GDI or a regular hosting . GDI as we all know as (Global Domain International) is a popular hosting site that gives a 7 Day FREE trial and charges a $10 monthly fee which is not bad when GDI gives back once a month $1 for every referred person that pays each week. There are many people who have tried GDI, without the search engine, and have failed.

WHY?

Well, your guess is as good as mine. My opinion is that most people who join GDI don't have a need for a domain name so, they join thinking it is a get rich opportunity. But only to find out it is costing them every month so they drop out. Having a search engine gives them a reason to generate an income with both GDI and with their search engine.

The regular hosting charges $4.95 a month. But I use GDI because my domain is paid for. I have had a GDI account for the past few years and couldn't get it to work until I signed up for the free search engine. But here's the catcher, if a referral, for the search engine, signs up for GDI then there is no compensation in step 2. If the referral signs for the regular hosting provided by Tissa then there is a $10 commission. The trick is to determine if the referral has a GDI account already and everyone else will sign up for the regular hosting.

The Final step, step3 is the Advertising step. This step is where Tissa offers FREE Advertising for the search engine. But is it really FREE as he says it is? Well, let's do some calculations to find out. If I sign up for this step it will cost me $39 after the first month but Tissa is going to give me $125 for signing up for the advertising step. If I take $39 away from the $125 I am still $86 ahead. Now I have to $20 for the 2 months of hosting with GDI. because it is going to take at least 2 months to build a clientele. Now, I am ahead $66 the question is, am I getting the search engine for free? Yes, I am! The truth is that I actually received over $200 within my first two months and my GDI account is free because of the team I built with the GDI and the Search engine.

Understand this, it does take a lot of work to get it going but once it starts going you will see the benefits of this opportunity. Is it a fast way to get rich? In My Opinion NO it is not but it can give you unexpected checks. The harder I worked the more checks I received.

To answer the Is Tissa's Search Engine a Scam? In my opinion NO it is not!

Does Network Marketing Work?

The answer, YES I believe network marketing does work but only for people who are at financial peace with themselves. There are so many people who get discouraged within the first few weeks of joining a network marketing opportunity because they don’t have financial peace. I am going to call these people debtees because debt is their biggest problem and they are looking for a quick fix to get themselves out of debt. Network marketing is going to only put them further into debt.

You have heard of the phrase you have to spend money to make money? How is a debtee going to spend money to join a network marketing opportunity when he/she is in debt? IT DOESN’T MAKE SENSE PEOPLE! The debtees will either pay with a credit card or take out a loan to join. When the opportunity doesn’t work they’ll get discouraged and quit. Now they have put themselves further into debt before they joined.

IT’S NOT THE SMART WAY TO GET OUT OF DEBT!

If debtees are so eager to get out of debt here is my advise, before joining any network marketing opportunity;

First, find financial peace by “Living like no one else so you can live like no one else” by David Ramsey. These means cleaning up their debt owed and start paying cash for everything. It’s the healthiest way to get to wealth.

The first thing Dave suggest in his book is to build a $1000 emergency savings fund fast. Don't look at me funny because I thought the same thing, where am I going to get $1000 fast. The answer is how ever you can. If it means sellling things or getting another job it is imparitive to build the emergancy fund fast.

Why?

Because while cleaning up credit debt emergencies will occur. It is what Dave calls "Murphy's Law". Murphy's Law states "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong." Things like getting a blown tire on the way to work or a blown engine. If there is no emergency fund to use , then obtaining a credit card or trying to get a loan becomes more tempting but defeating the purpose of becoming debt free. By having an emergency fund can help avoid creating new debt when an emergency occurs.

Nations unemployment rate hits 8.5%

663,000 jobs cut in March; workers' hours at record low

WASHINGTON — The nation's unemployment rate shot up to 8.5% in March as employers shed 663,000 jobs and cut workers' hours to a record low, the Labor Department said Friday in a report showing continued rapid deterioration in the job market.

A record 13.2 million Americans were out of work last month. Firms have cut 5.1 million jobs since the recession began in December 2007, with nearly two-thirds of the cuts happening in the last five months. The unemployment rate was up from a seasonally adjusted 8.1% in February, and at 8.5% it is the highest since November 1983. A year ago the rate was 5.1%.

For the first time since 1985, less than 60% of the U.S. population was working.

Prospecting as a privilege that must be earned before a product or an opportunity can be presented. To earn the right to prospect people you must first gain their trust. By gaining their trust you eliminate that fear factor in doing business with you.

In today's network marketing, failure starts the minute you regurgitate a sells pitch. YUK! I know, but it's a fact that as soon as a referral joins an opportunity the first thing they want to do is tell the world. They put a names list together and start calling everyone they know. Before you know it they drop out and start bad mouthing the company. Maybe 60 years ago this kind of network marketing business model would have worked.

But not today!

There are too many scams on the internet and everyone is looking for the get rich quick business.

Sad to say there's not one!

We can earn the right to prospect by using Attraction Marketing. Attraction marketing is nothing more than teaching others or providing a solution to someones problem rather than selling a pitch.

But how...

A commercial you see on T.V. is probably one of the best examples of providing a solution to a problem with out using a sales pitch. When a commercial pops up does it say buy my product or join my business?

NO! They offer solutions to someones problem for example: A deodorant commercial doesn't tell you to go buy their product. Instead it tells a story of how to solve the problem of body odor.

You're product provides a solution so, you have to find out what your prospects problems are (Target Market) and teach them how your product will solve their problems. If you start with a sales pitch they will shut you off and then you lose. Start by using free tools such as blogging, writing articles, joining social networks and try out video marketing to tell people about your solution.

Have you heard the phrase "teaching sells"? Well it does and it can bring great wealth if used correctly.

Doesn't mean we can't promote a product or opportunity. You just have to earn the right to present it. I tell my boys that driving a car is a privilege and must be earned. If the laws of the road aren't followed the privilege can be taken away. Same principle applies to prospecting! If you use the sales pitch approach you loose the privilege to prospect. But by building a relationship and trust with a prospect through teaching you then earned the right to prospect because you have sold yourself.

This site was designed to serve, inform and protect the distributor or new people to Work-From-Home businesses.

Another tool I use to find legitimate Work-From-Home opportunities would be in a work from home job directory. These job directories list 1,000 of companies that are totally legitimate to start a business with. It will help you to avoid scams!

WOW! My heading sounds like every other marketing guru trying to make a buck. But hey, I am not going to push my product or opportunity on you like everyone else. Instead I am going to give you a simple proven strategy that will help you build your network business in one year or less.

The reason I made such a statement is because I had the pleasure of meeting a body builder named Mike Healy, who created and used a system he called "The Power of One" to build his network marketing business in his first year. Mike and his wife Stacy are now happily working from home earning a 6 figure income.

Now, I am not going to feed you a line BS about Mikes "The Power of One" system. All I am going to do is show you some facts and then you can create your own opinion. If you think it will work for you then try it, if not no harm done. Maybe you might see something in this strategy that may help you in your marketing strategy.

One of the most difficult task in building a network market business is finding a system that has simplicity and can be duplicated. Each new recruit will be over whelmed by what they have to do to build their business. Your job as a leader is to decrease their stress level by giving them a system that will work for, not only them, but everyone they recruit.

If you had to pick which 6 months would you have more fun doing? The 2nd 6 months, right? All it takes is sponsoring one person a month. If you and your recruits can duplicate this presentation will have a 6 figure income by next year.

Now, Remember I said Mike built a 6 figure income in his first year? Well, the numbers above don't show 6 figures that's because Mike had a plan to use the above figures but it went so well that his volume increased just over the numbers shown above.

The concept of "The Power of One" is this, everyone wants to make more money but their wants don't have a plan to make more money. The leaders job is to show the team the presentation above. If your prospects BELIEVE they can sponsor one person a month everyone will sign-up.

I would like to say one more thing and then I will let you go. There is no business out there that will make you rich over night. It takes time and a lot of patients to be network marketing and if you are not dedicated to the business to work hard for yourself you will never be successful in network marketing.

First thing to do is to stop bothering everyone under the sun including family and friends. The old networking marketing of producing a list of names is out dated and useless. Here is something for you to think about: Would it easier for a car salesman to sell a car to someone walking down the street by handing out brochures, business cards and flyer's or would the sales person have more success selling to a man who just walked off the street onto his lot? The point is that someone who is looking for what you are offering will come to you if you use the right formula.

The simple formula to attract leads without buying them is called Attraction Marketing. I know you have heard it before but attraction marketing is the wave of the future. Network Marketers like myself are finding it easier and cheaper to attract qualified prospects by using the attraction marketing formula.

There are a few components to the attraction marketing formula to help kick start it into reality. The first component is "knowing your Target Market". Network marketers struggle with finding their target market but it is very simple to tackle. I will get into this component in my next lens.

The second component is "knowing what you are selling". No, I am not talking about knowing your product. You should know how to sell yourself before you can sell your product. Prospects want to know who is going to lead them to success. If you can show them you are a leader then they will follow. I will get into more detail with this component later on in another lens.

Learning Attraction Marketing will build a successful business. Sit down and make a list of who your target market is then use that information to sell yourself to your prospects. It sounds like a lot of work but you can put something together in hour if your serious enough to be successful.

There are many ways to market your business online. One of the easiest ways is to use YouTube to market your business. YouTube is considered web 2.0 marketing - using the latest technologies to market your business and services. It is quite easy to use YouTube to market your business or service.

YouTube is an online community of people who prefer to use videos as a way to communicate to the world. It is free to join and a lot of fun to use and to look at other videos! How you use YouTube is up to you. Here is an easy way to get started with YouTube:

1. Go to YouTube.com and sign up for a free account. Choose a name for your account that is easy to remember or reflects your business or service.

2. Set up your profile and let people know about you and your business. This is NOT a place to try and sell them in the description! That is the job of your videos.

3. Get a cheap web cam or use a camcorder. Even the ones that use tapes can be downloaded and then uploaded to your YouTube account. The Flip Cam is very cheap - about $129 and will upload directly to YouTube.

4. Make your first video! Don't be shy! Tell people something about yourself, how you got where you are, and where you want to go. Again, don't sell anything yet, only yourself.

5. Make the videos short. No more than 5 minutes. That way you will keep your viewers attention.

6. Try to do 2-3 videos a week.

7। Very important! Make sure your videos offer value! Don't just sell! Help people learn how to do something - build a kite, fly a plane, market on the internet - whatever your specialty is. Give something before you expect to receive something.

YouTube can be a very powerful way to get yourself and your business exposure on the world wide web. YouTube marketing can be and should be fun! Present yourself well on YouTube and you can make customers...and friends...for life!

The Facebook Website gets about the same amount of traffic as Google does. A lot of people think that Facebook is like MySpace, only for teenagers. But in reality, it is a great place to network with other entrepreneurs and a good way to begin building your own business or personal brand. We call that online presence.

There are a few marketing tools available, to build your brand or business. Before getting access to those tools, you will need to set up your personal profile on Facebook. It doesn't take long for you to set up your Facebook Account. It is actually fun and it also will help you as you build your brand or business. There are a few things I learned about Face Book.

· You should have only 1 personal account on Facebook, I know they are strict about this.

· Don't go nuts adding friends, keep it low key, you don't want to get red flagged. Once that happens, don't use Facebook at all for awhile.

· Join groups and participate

· Open your own Group

· You don't have to build your Facebook profile in one shot, built it over time. It is more important that you take action

· Your profile should be all about you and nothing else. People just love to learn more about you and respect you as a friend first, before you talk about business.

· If you use Twitter you can link that to your Facebook profile

Now let us talk about setting up a Face Book Page.

You can have as many pages as you want and they can be linked to your profile.

· A Facebook Page is like a Business Page.

· Facebook pages will show up in the Search Engines, while your profile will not.

· People joining your page are fans and you cannot send a fan request.

· With your profile you can send friend requests.

· Because Facebook gets almost the same amount of visitors as Google, it will rank in the Search Engine and it is absolutely a good place to get your brand or business off to a good start.

The whole idea behind getting an online presence is to get it going. Set up your profile and your page, and you always can come back to make it look better. Once you have set up your Facebook page all you have to do is promote it or link to it, via your blog, Squidoo, your Website or any other media sites you are using. In my opinion The Face Book Site has come and past MySpace Site, I think as a business owner myself I must say that I am pleased with Facebook for networking purposes. The options and layout are much better and easier to use and results in form of business relationships are much better.

Viral marketing...what is it? Will Viral Marketing Work for You?

Sure, viral marketing is working great for this skin care giant, but will it work for the average skin care marketer? Viral marketing can be complex, for sure...and no one really understands how it works so well online. The success of the larger skin care companies (like Dove) is making it harder to attain for the not-so-well-known brands.

A skin care marketing promotion that also supports a good cause only helps to broaden its reach to potential customers.

This is also the case with the Estee Lauder Company, who announced the rollout of an online marketing/advertising campaign to benefit Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The content of the campaign is created around the "Share a Survivor Story, Inspire the World" theme. To assist in its efforts to spread the word, Estee Lauder has teamed up with other giants in the skin care products arena and will release its campaign on Facebook and MySpace, for starters.

We've Come a Long Way, Baby!

First it was the pony express, then the telegraph, and then the phone...now the computer has brought us to viral marketing...or "social media". And its quickly becoming an integral part of many skin care marketing and advertising campaigns. As the internet continues to expand the boundaries of how fast and broadly we can deliver multimedia (photos, videos, etc.), the more it continues to become a part of everyone's life. So skin care marketers...beware...jump on board or get left behind!

The United States is hit with a terrible depression as the banks and investment firms everywhere are hit with a terrible crisis. A financial meltdown is upon the country and most probably the rest of the world as well.

In times like these, it does not help if someone sits on their hands and do nothing. Saving more money is only going to make the economy worse.

Ask yourself this question:

If your car is running out of gas what would you do? Do you:

parabens
and musks

These products are widely used in skin care products and have been linked to potential harmful health effects including hormone disruption and cancer. In a recent study of 20 girls, every single girl had levels of parabens in their bodies consistent with the products they were exposed to.

Advertising with free and paid classified ads is a great way to promote your network marketing business. Classified ads are textually based ads where the general public can solicit their products, services, and opportunities.

Classified ads are typically limited in ad space. An ad consist of as little as a headline and phone number. It may also offer more details, such as a contact person, an address, or a description of the offering.

You will often find classified ads in the rear of periodicals such as magazines. Since most magazines are targeted towards a particular niche, you will want to pick a relative magazine to be sure you are advertising to the right audience.

In addition to traditional offline classified advertising, there are also online classified ads. These are usually not as targeted as the ads you find in magazines; however ad postings are segmented by category.

Most online classified ad sites offer free posting. Many have upgrade options that allow you additional benefits such as higher ad visibility, an extended expiration date, or unlimited posting privileges.

One classified ad will not get you a ton of exposure for your home business, but there is strength in numbers. This can get very time consuming.

If you are going to use classified ads, you may want to consider the upgrading to a paid account or using a submission service that will automatically send your ad out to thousands of classified ad sites for a nominal fee. This will save you time and get you more exposure.

Educate your readers

You will get more returned visits the more you educate your readers. Why do you think the internet is called the information highway? Yeah, you may think you have the same information as someone else but everyone revels that information differently. Place Google Adsense

Adsenses are ads that you advertise on your site. Ads are placed on your blog based on the content you on your blog. If your blog is about make-up or how to work on cars your adsense will show ads of other sites related to either pertaining to make-up or Auto mechanics.

Placing Google Adsenses are not hard to add to your blog. First you will have to go to google and set up a free account with Google Adsense. Once you have your account up and running you just go back to your blog and add your adsesne.

This is just one source of making a profit on your blog. As you are blogging and you start getting visitors if your visitors click on an ad you will start seeing money appearing in your Google Account. If you follow the Google Adsense steps you will get paid.

These three affiliate programs are your second source of making a profit from your blog. When your Adsense you can add ads from either Amazon or Click Bank to the end of your post, in the navigation area.

Amazon is a well known online store. They started as an online book store but then added more to their site. Once you become an affiliate you may advertise their products on your site and collect when your visitors clicks an Amazon link. But it doesn’t stop to just the one product. If your visitors purchase anything on Amazon but came through a link from your site you get paid.

Click Bank is similar to Adsense but instead getting paid through Google you get paid from Click Bank. Plus the ads are individual ads that you can pick and choose to place on your blog. If your visitor buys the product you get a percentage of the price.

Now there are techniques as to where and how to place the ads on your blog but that sounds like another post. So, I have given my secrets to making a profit with your blogs. Why Do 98% of Network Marketers Fail in Their Home Based Business?

Creating a significant personal wealth from your network marketing business should be all too easy, right? I mean all of us "networkers" are told that ALL we have to do is find three of our friends and family, duplicate our upline's "system" to have them join your business, tell those three to go and find three, duplicate (again) and KAPOW before you know it you have created a massive home based business generating piles of cash, while you sit on the beach worrying only about what exotic cocktail you should order next. Ahhhh, couldn't be simpler, right? Well, with a 98% failure rate in MLM; things just couldn't be any more WRONG!

There are many reasons why the majority of network marketers never make it to the big money. Some of the most common reasons being:

1. No plan or ineffective plan of action

2. Low (or even nonexistent) downline associate retention (revolving door)

3. Unrealistic expectations

4. Lack of quality prospects

5. Improper communication skills

6. Lack of appropriate training

7. Failure to properly position themselves as leaders

This method will spell disaster for you 98% of the time because it leaves your prospects with only one question, "So, how much are you making from this opportunity?" Unless you already are making a fortune from your MLM, this single question will stop your prospecting efforts dead in their tracks!

The solution? You must forget about the opportunity and compensation plan for now. Pretend it doesn't exist! Lead with your product FIRST. Try out your product/service yourself (you'd be surprised how many people actually haven't used the products/services from their own MLM company). Use it. How does it make you feel? You can easily and knowingly speak to your prospects regarding the benefits of the product because you have, in fact, experienced the product! Well, by properly leading with your product or service (there is a technique to this) and finishing with your opportunity; you will be able to acquire both a customer and motivated associate all in one the majority of the time. And for those prospects who do not wish, at this time, to join your opportunity; well, you've just acquired a loyal customer on "auto-ship", nuff said! With this information alone, you can reverse the pattern of failure so many network marketers experience, and with the right tools, techniques and application; you can begin building a massive and truly profitable home based business.

What is the differences between network marketing and pyramid schemes? The difference is that one has a legitimate product to offer to the public and recruitment if you choose to work the business, where the other (pyramid) is based entirely on recruitment. I am not in Amway just using them as an example; Amway is a legitimate MLM why because they have products to offer. You can either buy the product or use it or you can recruit others to be in the business. Melliluca is another MLM that is legitimate. Now if these companies are a pyramid schemes then why are they still in business when pyramid schemes are illegal in the US.

Yes! They both MLM and pyramid schemes work in similar ways that is why it is hard to distinguish between the two. But if you do your home work on a particular MLM business they can be pretty rewarding. People get in these businesses because they believe in the product and they see the benefits of a residual income.

There are so many people that see MLM as a pyramid scheme because of the work that is involved to be successful in the business. Everyone wants a free ride in life but unless you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth or won the lottery they will never be free. If you have never tried working in an MLM business don’t mock it based on what you here. If you do some research on MLM you will find that the business concept has been around for centuries.

Most people involved in sales of any kind would agree that positive word-of-mouth referrals are the absolute best kind of prospects. When folks like something enough to want to tell others about it, there is a powerful interaction that results in a higher conversion of sales. This is what network marketing is all about.

Businesses with the network marketing structure have flourished for over fifty years. Testimonies and stories passed along from person to person create a flow of activity and sales that can be very lucrative. The successful legacy of many 10, 20, 30, and 40+ year old businesses is attributed to this referral marketing system.

Today there is an even greater opportunity for home business success with the internet as a marketing tool. Stories and testimonies can be shared through articles, blog posts, and any number of social marketing methods. The ability to reach more people and have them benefit both from the products and the financial opportunity is really unlimited.

This word-of-mouth referral system drives the business prospecting segment just as it does products. There is a story behind almost every home business, and those stories are passed along from person to person. Sharing the reasons for starting a home business, such as moms wanting to stay home with children, men wanting to earning extra money to travel or upgrade a home or vehicle, parents saving money for children's college expenses, and even men and women wanting to replace a high-stress corporate position, is done in casual ways both online and offline.

One of the testaments to why this particular brand has stood the test of time is because the products behind the company give such awesome results, and people continue to talk about those results. In order to achieve long-term success, there must be quality products behind the company. In network marketing businesses, the business opportunity is a product itself and it needs to be of high integrity.

As long as people continue to communicate, and share things that give them benefits, network marketing home businesses will continue to flourish. Offline folks need to simply listen to conversations almost anywhere they go to learn of a need or a problem that a product or opportunity can fill. Online, doing the same thing in various groups, forums or communities, or following some attraction marketing techniques such as writing about peoples' needs or problems, will result in people finding you to fill their need.

Network Marketing has advantages beyond earning income and having business success. It is a satisfying feeling to impact the lives of others, through both the fantastic results the products provide and helping folks take charge of their finances and lifestyle. Achieving success in a network marketing home business can be as easy as telling someone about a good movie or nice restaurant, yet it can be significantly more rewarding.

Why buying leads for your Home Based Business is bad?

This is a question that most Home Based Business owners struggle over. Why, because leads are an essential part of building a successful business. But buying leads is bad because they are expensive if you don’t know how to sell to them. When you buy leads you are actually selling to a cold market and unless you have some experience in selling to a cold market I would not advise anyone to buy leads. Most home based business owners don't have experience in cold market selling so, it would be a waste of time and Time is Money, right?

Also, stop bothering everyone you see including your family, friends and anyone else you have on your list. When you go to the store pitched to about a certain product or do you already know what you want? Another example, is it easier for a car salesman to sell a car to someone walking down the street by handing out brochures, business cards and flyer's or to the man who just walked off the street onto his lot? The point is that someone who is looking for what you are offering will come to you if you use the right techniques.

There is a better way for you to generate leads without buying them. You can generate more leads for free if you teach your targeted market! Write educational messages to help your targeted market get what they want. At the end of your message add a link to your product. I admit it. The term "viral marketing" is offensive. Call yourself a Viral Marketer and people will take two steps back. I would. "Do they have a vaccine for that yet?" you wonder. A sinister thing, the simple virus is fraught with doom, not quite dead yet not fully alive, it exists in that nether genre somewhere between disaster movies and horror flicks.

But you have to admire the virus. He has a way of living in secrecy until he is so numerous that he wins by sheer weight of numbers. He piggybacks on other hosts and uses their resources to increase his tribe. And in the right environment, he grows exponentially. A virus don't even have to mate -- he just replicates, again and again with geometrically increasing power, doubling with each iteration:

In a few short generations, a virus population can explode.

Viral Marketing Defined

What does a virus have to do with marketing? Viral marketing describes any strategy that encourages individuals to pass on a marketing message to others, creating the potential for exponential growth in the message's exposure and influence. Like viruses, such strategies take advantage of rapid multiplication to explode the message to thousands, to millions.

Off the Internet, viral marketing has been referred to as "word-of-mouth," "creating a buzz," "leveraging the media," "network marketing." But on the Internet, for better or worse, it's called "viral marketing." While others smarter than I have attempted to rename it, to somehow domesticate and tame it, I won't try. The term "viral marketing" has stuck.

The Classic Hotmail.com Example

The classic example of viral marketing is Hotmail.com, one of the first free Web-based e-mail services. The strategy is simple:

Give away free e-mail addresses and services,
Attach a simple tag at the bottom of every free message sent out: "Get your private, free email at http://www.hotmail.com" and,
Then stand back while people e-mail to their own network of friends and associates,
Who see the message,
Sign up for their own free e-mail service, and then
Propel the message still wider to their own ever-increasing circles of friends and associates.

Like tiny waves spreading ever farther from a single pebble dropped into a pond, a carefully designed viral marketing strategy ripples outward extremely rapidly.

Elements of a Viral Marketing Strategy

Accept this fact. Some viral marketing strategies work better than others, and few work as well as the simple Hotmail.com strategy. But below are the six basic elements you hope to include in your strategy. A viral marketing strategy need not contain ALL these elements, but the more elements it embraces, the more powerful the results are likely to be. An effective viral marketing strategy:

Gives away products or services
Provides for effortless transfer to others
Scales easily from small to very large
Exploits common motivations and behaviors
Utilizes existing communication networks
Takes advantage of others' resources

Let's examine at each of these elements briefly.

1. Gives away valuable products or services

"Free" is the most powerful word in a marketer's vocabulary. Most viral marketing programs give away valuable products or services to attract attention. Free e-mail services, free information, free "cool" buttons, free software programs that perform powerful functions but not as much as you get in the "pro" version. Wilson's Second Law of Web Marketing is "The Law of Giving and Selling" (http://www.wilsonweb.com/wmta/basic-principles.htm). "Cheap" or "inexpensive" may generate a wave of interest, but "free" will usually do it much faster. Viral marketers practice delayed gratification. They may not profit today, or tomorrow, but if they can generate a groundswell of interest from something free, they know they will profit "soon and for the rest of their lives" (with apologies to "Casablanca"). Patience, my friends. Free attracts eyeballs. Eyeballs then see other desirable things that you are selling, and, presto! you earn money. Eyeballs bring valuable e-mail addresses, advertising revenue, and e-commerce sales opportunities. Give away something, sell something.

2. Provides for effortless transfer to others

Public health nurses offer sage advice at flu season: stay away from people who cough, wash your hands often, and don't touch your eyes, nose, or mouth. Viruses only spread when they're easy to transmit. The medium that carries your marketing message must be easy to transfer and replicate: e-mail, website, graphic, software download. Viral marketing works famously on the Internet because instant communication has become so easy and inexpensive. Digital format make copying simple. From a marketing standpoint, you must simplify your marketing message so it can be transmitted easily and without degradation. Short is better. The classic is: "Get your private, free email at http://www.hotmail.com." The message is compelling, compressed, and copied at the bottom of every free e-mail message.

3. Scales easily from small to very large

To spread like wildfire the transmission method must be rapidly scalable from small to very large. The weakness of the Hotmail model is that a free e-mail service requires its own mailservers to transmit the message. If the strategy is wildly successful, mailservers must be added very quickly or the rapid growth will bog down and die. If the virus multiplies only to kill the host before spreading, nothing is accomplished. So long as you have planned ahead of time how you can add mailservers rapidly you're okay. You must build in scalability to your viral model.

4. Exploits common motivations and behaviors

Clever viral marketing plans take advantage of common human motivations. What proliferated "Netscape Now" buttons in the early days of the Web? The desire to be cool. Greed drives people. So does the hunger to be popular, loved, and understood. The resulting urge to communicate produces millions of websites and billions of e-mail messages. Design a marketing strategy that builds on common motivations and behaviors for its transmission, and you have a winner.

5. Utilizes existing communication networks

Most people are social. Nerdy, basement-dwelling computer science grad students are the exception. Social scientists tell us that each person has a network of 8 to 12 people in their close network of friends, family, and associates. A person's broader network may consist of scores, hundreds, or thousands of people, depending upon her position in society. A waitress, for example, may communicate regularly with hundreds of customers in a given week. Network marketers have long understood the power of these human networks, both the strong, close networks as well as the weaker networked relationships. People on the Internet develop networks of relationships, too. They collect e-mail addresses and favorite website URLs. Affiliate programs exploit such networks, as do permission e-mail lists. Learn to place your message into existing communications between people, and you rapidly multiply its dispersion.

6. Takes advantage of others' resources

The most creative viral marketing plans use others' resources to get the word out. Affiliate programs, for example, place text or graphic links on others' websites. Authors who give away free articles, seek to position their articles on others' webpages. A news release can be picked up by hundreds of periodicals and form the basis of articles seen by hundreds of thousands of readers. Now someone else's newsprint or webpage is relaying your marketing message. Someone else's resources are depleted rather than your own.
